Transition risk

Understand your building's energy performance, regulatory compliance, and how to create transition plans.

What and why

Transition risk is about how laws, regulations, energy requirements, and market expectations will affect your buildings as society moves toward lower emissions. In Voyager, the transition risk section helps you understand where each property stands today and what actions you can take to improve its energy performance.

How it works

The transition risk section on each property page covers three main areas:

  • Energy labels. View the energy performance certificates registered for the building. Properties can have one or more certificates. You can also add or update energy labels manually when official data is unavailable or needs correction.

  • Regulatory compliance. See how the property performs against relevant requirements, including EU Taxonomy substantial contribution criteria (EPC class A or top 15% of national building stock for buildings built before 2021) and do no significant harm criteria (EPC class C or top 30%). For buildings built after 2020, the reference point is the NZEB (nearly zero-energy building) standard.

  • Transition plans. Create plans for improving a property's energy performance. A transition plan documents what measures you intend to take, their estimated cost and impact, and lets you track progress. You can create multiple plans per property to break improvements into manageable phases.

Good to know

The transition risk section is being actively developed. New features for energy performance estimates, measure cost calculations, and compliance tracking are on the roadmap.

Energy labels in Norway are issued by Enova. Telescope fetches registered labels automatically, but not all buildings have a registered certificate. When a label is missing, you can add it manually.
