7Analytics flood data

Telescope offers an optional add-on powered by 7Analytics that significantly improves the data quality for surface flooding (pluvial flooding). While Telescope's standard surface flooding data is based on public sources, 7Analytics provides a high-resolution Pluvial Flood Index at 1x1 meter resolution, trained on historical insurance claims data. This gives you a much more granular and accurate picture of surface flood risk at the property level.

When the 7Analytics add-on is enabled for your organization, the surface flooding exposure in your screening results is based on 7Analytics data instead of the standard public sources. This applies automatically to all screenings. You don't need to do anything differently.

The 7Analytics Pluvial Flood Index measures an area's inherent susceptibility to surface water flooding, independent of any specific rainfall event. It reflects topography, drainage patterns, soil permeability, and land use, providing a stable indicator of how likely an area is to experience surface flooding.

Because the model is trained on actual flood insurance claims, it captures real-world flooding patterns that public hazard maps may miss, particularly in urban areas where drainage infrastructure and local terrain features play a major role.

The add-on only affects surface flooding data. All other hazards (river flooding, landslides, storm surge, and so on) continue to use Telescope's standard data sources.
